Our Journey Starts New

November 2011

For about a year and a half we have been praying that God would bless us with a child. We never imagined having any trouble pursuing this dream, but after a year of seemingly getting no where, we decided to start pursuing infertility treatment. Though we have not been told we cannot have children, the odds are not in our favor. This has been a very difficult journey, which has led us to start the adoption process. Adoption is something we had talked about even before we were married. Our desire is to be parents and raise children to teach them about our Savior, Jesus Christ. At times we wonder if it would have been easier to be told we are unable to have kids so that we could have started the adoption process sooner, but we know God’s timing is perfect, as is His plan for us. We are in the beginning stages of the adoption, we have finished reading the manual, and have started the Adoptive Planning Questionnaire. Once the APQ is finished we will apply for our Home Study. From there we will start working on our profile to be shown to potential birth mothers. We are very excited to have the opportunity to be blessed with a child, and know as hard or as scary and tough the process might be in the end God's will, will be done and we hope we are able to glorify him in every way.

Coming to you live!

We are active! Our profile is available for viewing and is being shown to birth parents. Thank you for your prayers! We still have lots to do, we received our equipment for the video profile, and have till around the end of the month to finish it. We've got another manual to read and then the waiting. But we couldn't be happier. God has been faithful through this portion of the journey and we know that He who started a good work in us will be faithful to complete it.

Excitement as so much is moving forward!

Wow we are really seeing things move forward and all the hard work and prayers being answered. Our profile information that was submitted was approved! We got a proof of what our online profile will look like. The next piece of the profile is the video portion. All the legal paper work for that was read through, signed, and sent in. The video profile is not required to go active but still must be completed. We have received the video equipment and have 30 days to capture what is needed for the video. There is one last activation agreement form to digest, initial, notarize, and send in with the activation fee.

Then it is OFFICIAL!! We will be shown to potential birth parents and our adoption agency will work to match us. This is where the rubber meets the road so to speak. :) God already has our child matched for us and it's just a point of finding out who it is and when. We are praying specifically for the birth parent(s) as this is going to be emotionally draining and difficult for them. We have heard so many stories in the last few months and enjoy seeing and hearing about friends of ours who have adopted. Every day we become more encouraged and thankful that we are on this journey.
